Four rules that keep wood burning clean.
Kiln dried is ready, but storage matters.
- ▪ Keep it off the ground.
- ▪ Set the crate on bricks or pallets. Ground moisture wicks up.
- ▪ Cover the top.
- ▪ A tarp over the top keeps rain off. Leave the sides open for air.
- ▪ Do not stack tight to the wall.
- ▪ Leave a gap for air flow. Wood needs to breathe.
- ▪ Use within 6 months.
- ▪ Kiln dried stays dry for months if stored right. After a year, it picks up moisture.
